Civil War Project – administration

responsibilities & accomplishments

  • project managed from inception to launch the National Civil War Project, a multi-city collaboration of theaters and universities, led by GWU in partnership with Arena Stage and Liz Lerman, LLC
  • prepared budgets of projected expenses for grant requests; collated program information from partner institutions in five cities
  • liased on behalf of the Project with representatives from stakeholders within and outside of partner institutions
  • facilitated collaboration among partner institutions and among university staff through conference calls and online tools
  • spearheaded major grant applications to the NEH and the NEA, including overseeing the preparation of subcontractor materials by five partner organizations, collaborating on narrative sections, and providing final editorial approval
  • worked closely with nationally and internationally visible artists
  • supported GWU faculty in planning undergraduate programming to support the Project
  • wrote progress reports and briefs for project leadership
  • organized Project information for planning and archival purposes
